MCA Announces Summer Hours

On Monday, June 2, 2014, Mobile Community Action Inc. Administrative Office at 461 Donald Street and all of its Community Service Centers will began operating four days per week (Monday-Thursday), 10-hours per day, from 7a.m. until 6p.m. daily. The  summer operational hours will conclude on July 31, 2014 CA Soliciting Request for Proposals 

JUNE 4TH-AUGUST 6THThe WAVE Transit System will offer a discount summer bus pass to students ages 6-18. For more information call 344.6600.

MCA Partners With Fair Housing

On Friday, July 25, 2014, Mobile Community Action Inc., partnered with Fair Housing during its Disabilities Resource Fair  held at Mobile's Colonial Bel-Air Mall, from left are, Jacquela Humbert, MCA Head Start; Teresa Bettis, Gwendolyn Darty, Fair Housing; MCA CSBG Manager, Linda Marshall and MCA CSBG Assistant, Lakeisha Williams; and Lisa Jenkins, Fair Housing.

MCA Participates In Summer Program

Mobile Community Action, Inc. was one of several agencies in Mobile County chosen to  participate in two summer youth employment programs.The purpose for both  programs, which  lasted four weeks, was to provide on the job training for each of its participants. Mobile County Commissioner, Merceria Ludgood sponsored one of the programs.The other was sponsored by United Cerebral Palsy,  Tyeshay Biggs, top photo right with MCA Executive Director Elige Jones ,  was from Commissioner Ludgood's program and spent four weeks learning about the operational procedures of  MCA various department . In second photo, she  is with Community Services Department Manager, Linda Marshall, second from  left, and her staff.  In third photo, she is with Head Start Director, Janet Buckley, seated at left; and her staff. In fourth photo, are Angelo Miller,seated, Human Resource Manager and staff. In bottom photo are  Tanesha Palmer and Jacob Simons. Palmer and Simons were from United Cerebral Palsy. Palmer is a student at Bishop State Community College and Simons is a student at Alabama School for the Blind in Talledega, Alabama.
